Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal voted cinema's best couple Netindia123.com: "Hollywood stars Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal have been voted cinema's best couple in a survey carried out for retail giant Woolworths. The pair topped the poll for their on-screen romance in hit movie 'When Harry Met Sally'. The scene, in which Meg fakes an orgasm in a New York restaurant, beat Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart's partnership in the 1940s movie 'Casablanca' A spokesman for the store said the results proved the enduring popularity of romantic movies and their on-screen partnerships. 'The stars in these movies do strike a chord. We can relate to them and that's why they have stood the test of time,' femalefirst quoted him as saying. Others to feature in the list include Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, who paired in 1990 movie 'Pretty Woman'." Friday, March 11, 2005
Meg Ryan makes pictures USATODAY.com - Meg Ryan makes pictures: "The actress and intrepid photographer, who has been shooting her family and friends for years, just had her very first photo essay published in the April issue of Glamour magazine. And now she's ready to tackle bigger ideas. 'I'm going to take pictures of paparazzi taking pictures of me,' Ryan said. 'Then you'll get pictures of these guys in their shorts standing behind a column. It would be hilarious.' For now, Ryan focused on snapping women whom she considers her heroes because, as she told Glamour, they are 'of service to their generation': Queen Noor of Jordan, former Texas governor Ann Richards, CNN reporter Christiane Amanpour and human rights activist Ngawang Sangdrol. 'It was my first assignment, and what was outrageous about the experience was that people were actually cooperating with me,' said Ryan, wearing a 'year-old' Prada dress at a Wednesday night party feting her debut as a magazine writer and photographer. 'Normally, my pictures are of people who don't want their pictures taken.'" Wednesday, March 02, 2005
Meg Ryan 'hideous' claims TV host MEG RYAN - MEG RYAN HIDEOUS CLAIMS TV HOST: "Hollywood actress MEG RYAN is 'hideous' according to a British TV presenter, who dubbed her one of his worst ever interviewees. EAMONN HOLMES, host of the ITV network's morning show GM:TV, found the SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE beauty very difficult and unagreeable. He says, 'She was in WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN, in which she played an alcoholic. I remarked, 'The critics are saying they're seeing a whole new MEG RYAN in this,' and she snapped, 'Why? What was wrong with the old Meg Ryan?' 'It got worse and worse. The final straw came when our producer asked her to sign something for her boyfriend, a huge fan, and she just snapped, 'I don't do autographs.''" Friday, February 18, 2005
Ryan Finds Role of a Lifetime Ryan Finds Role of a Lifetime: "Meg Ryan has just received The Role of a Lifetime, signing on to star in the romantic comedy about a movie star and a British director whose paths cross on Broadway. The project has been around for more than ten years and was originally set up at Columbia Pictures. It has finally landed at Touchstone Pictures, where Armyan Bernstein's Beacon Pictures will produce with Dean Devlin, Kevin Spacey and Denise Di Novi, the projects original producers. It was rumored that Spacey would play the male lead in the film that involves a Hepburn/Tracy-like chemistry that develops when a British theater director comes to Broadway with a Shakespearean production and investors insist that he cast a movie star in the leading role. Spacey has since declined, however, and a male lead is being sought." Monday, January 17, 2005
Meg Ryan and Jackie Kallen - Against the Ropes interview Meg Ryan and Jackie Kallen - Against the Ropes interview"Meg Ryan has done action before. Courage Under Fire was a fantastic war movie. Proof of Life was a decent suspense/thriller, even though she didn't have the action role. And similarly, in Against the Ropes, she's not the one doing the actual fighting. But she does play a take charge character who maneuvers through the world of boxing, initiating all the fights that take place in the film. Ryan plays real life fight promoter Jackie Kallen, and the real Kallen joined her to do interviews for the film and you could see similarities. Both have a take-charge attitude that they apply to their respective careers, and both are successful women. One can imagine the film probably wasn't 100 percent accurate to real life, so here was the chance to find out what liberties were taken in the Jackie Kallen story. " Wednesday, January 12, 2005

Meg Ryan attends fundraiser for water Macleans.ca | Culture | Ski and be seen in Banff as celebs attend fundraiser for water: "Camryn Manheim (The Practice) was enjoying the atmosphere after racing to the bottom of a toboggan run. 'Thank you Canada for being so warm and welcoming toward us,' she said. But not all of the stars who travelled to the Rocky Mountain resort for the three-day fundraiser were as adventurous. Some, like event co-host Meg Ryan, preferred to spend Friday at the hotel instead of taking part in the winter sports at Sunshine Village Ski Resort. Blowing snow made driving treacherous from the airport in Calgary. What is normally a one-hour trip took twice that long for many of the celebrities, who passed dozens of vehicles that had slid off the road. 'It was a ball getting here,' Oscar-winner Robin Williams quipped at a cocktail reception Thursday night. 'It was like the Donner party without having to eat your relatives.'" |
